Causes of “Error Code 0xf1” on Epson Printers?
We decided to investigate th e problem after receiving numerous reports from multiple users and built a set of solutions to address it completely. We also looked at the reasons for this error and listed them below:
Jammed Feed Gears: One user reported that a piece of plastic broken off from a part of the printer had been stuck in the feed gear and jammed because of the error.
Paper Jam: In most cases, during the printing process, the error is caused by a paper jam. Some users reported that the paper had been jammed inside the printer because of the triggering of the error.
Dirty Cartridge: A dirty cartridge may have to be replaced and stops the printing process by jamming the papers while they are being printed.
Improper Installation: The printer may not be properly mounted on the device in some cases due to which this error could be caused.
Now that you have a basic understanding of the nature of the problem, we are going to move on to the solutions. Make sure to enforce them to avoid conflicts in the specific order in which they are introduced.
The error could be caused if a certain piece of plastic is caught in the Feed Gears and prevents them from turning properly. It is therefore advised to attempt to unjam the Gears by supplying the gears with manual pressure and extracting the plastic from them or by opening the printer's front panel manually separating the part from the gears.
There may be a paper jam inside the printer in some cases as a result of which this error is caused. We will therefore take the cartridge out and search for any paper jams in this step To that end:
1. Turn off the printer completely.
2. Remove the bottle from the back of the printer.
3. Search to see if the journal is stuck.
4. If it is removed and put back in the cartridge.
5. Plug the printer back in and check if the problem persists.
6. If the error is gone but the printer is not running, remove the cartridge and wash it.
7. Use ink to refill it and put it back in.
8. Check if the printer is printing.
The error is corrected in some cases simply by moving the assembly of the Printer Head in a particular fashion. Therefore, we're going to power down the printer and push the assembly in this phase. To do this:
1. Unplug the socket printer to shut it off.
2. Raise the printer hood and push the assembly of the printer head all the way to the left.
3. Move the Printer Head Assembly back all the way to the right.
4. Turn on the printer and check to see if the problem persists.
5. Repeat this process 4 to 5 times before moving on.
